After checking around the 'net looking for some decent Zip disk icons, I noted that there did not seem to be a whole pile of them out there. So I hauled out NeoIcon, the awesome little shareware icon editor available at:
http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~brada/neoicon.html
and made up some of my own. The result is this modest collection of 35 original icons, suitable for dressing up your poor naked Zip disks.
• These icons are optimised for 256 or more colours. •
(and look weird at lesser colour depths)
To use them you just have to do the mystical and sacred "icon-swap-dance".......
1) Select the cool icon you want to copy by clicking on it once.
2) Open File menu and click Get Info ( or use I).
3) Now click on the icon in the Get info window. This will put a box around it.
4) Open the Edit menu and click Copy (or use C). Now close the Get info window.
5) Now click once on the "target" icon (the one you want to put your new cool icon
onto) and do the "Get Info thing" on it (or use I).
6) Click on the "target icon" in the Get info window....there's that box thingy again.
7) Now open the Edit menu and click Paste (or use V).
8) Close the Get info window and VOILA! Your old icon now sports a new and
improved visage!
This collection of icons can be considered freeware. It may be copied and distributed freely, strictly on a non-profit basis. All I ask is that you do so in it's entirety (including this documentation). If you find these icons useful, please let me know via email (or send me a postcard). Enjoy them....play with them....give em a home.........
